Housed in Barre's beautifully restored, historic 1904 firehouse.

Our story begins in 2006, when we purchased Barre's historic 1904 firehouse and became the second owners since the City of Barre first opened its doors as a working station. What we found was a building full of character - white subway tiles wrapping the main dining room, soaring ornate wooden ceilings, and a century of old stories etched into every beam. What it needed, was everything else. We rebuilt the firehouse from the inside out with new electrical, heating, and plumbing, restoring its bones while preserving its soul.  In 2010, we added a four-room inn on the second floor, now known as The Firehouse Inn, giving guests a chance to stay inside a true piece of Barre history.  And in 2018, we expanded again with Moruzzi's, our 1920's-themed speakeasy tucked beneath the firehouse-an intimate, vintage, escape that celebrates another era of craftsmanship and community. Nearly two decades later, Ladder 1 Grill stands as a tribute to the firefighters who served here and to the town that continues to support us.
